LinkWay® System

LinkWay® System

Seamlessly connect your advanced business networking applications using IP, ATM, Frame Relay or ISDN.

Applications:
Mesh, star and hybrid network topologies over C- or Ku-band frequencies.

Technologies:
DVB-S2

The LinkWay® satellite networking system seamlessly connects your advanced networking applications using IP, ATM, Frame Relay, or ISDN protocols with direct, single-hop connections between remote sites.

Now with DVB-S2 technology, the LinkWayS2 system includes adaptive on-demand bandwidth allocation and bandwidth-efficient coding and modulation to give you cost-effective broadband connections between any two LinkWay-equipped sites. Features such as turbo coding and 8PSK modulation provide substantial bandwidth savings, reducing your transponder costs compared with other satellite communication systems.

LinkWay Terminals for Military Satcom

The full mesh LinkWay modem has also been designated a “Current Force Modem” as a key component of the Department of Defense push to accelerate the adoption of new technology to enable more modular, mobile forces. LinkWay modems, the most widely used broadband full mesh IP satcom modem in the DoD, are interoperable with the current Army Joint Network Node (JNN) hubs and/or the Coalition Multi-National Network (CMN) deployments.

LinkWay System Applications

  • Local and wide area networks
  • Military satcom
  • Internet Service Provider (ISP) Point-of-Presence (PoP)
  • Telecommunications infrastructure
  • Public switched telephone and data
  • Private telephony, data, and videoconferencing
  • Cellular and wireless local loop
  • Disaster recovery

LinkWay.IP

The linkway.IP system is a lower cost terminal focused on IP applications, and is interoperable with other LinkWay terminals. This terminal is ideal for many applications including ISP point of presence (PoP) connections; Web distribution and data caching; voice over IP; and data and video multicasting. With linkway.IP you can add these important features:

  • Asymmetric Traffic Flow
The expanded transmission rates created by asymmetric traffic flow allow greater flexibility for star network topologies (e.g., Internet service providers, distance learning, corporate intranets).
  • Integrated Package
The L-band interface of the radio frequency terminals (RFT) supports multi-transponder broadband VSAT applications in one integrated and economical package.
  • Easy Installation
The unique quick-commissioning features of the linkway.IP VSAT allow for easy installation, operation and maintenance.
